The existing interior space was closed, isolating itself from the external environment, which was to be transformed by this project into a bright and open one, equipped with advanced educational facilities. Maintaining its long tradition was another objective of the project. In order to satisfy the two seemingly contradicting needs, the interior space is reconstructed, leaving the exterior elevation intact. The parts that had to be taken down are repaired reusing the red bricks. During the design and construction, a process of removing and reinforcing the existing structures was repeated, which was much more complicated and hard compared to new construction.
