Yonhap News Agency HQ The design concept of Yonhap News Agency Headquarters is to create a cube containing symbolism, sustainability, and work efficiency for the only publicly funded news agency in Korea. The new headquarters building proposes an efficient environment-friendly working space for the employees. The studios and broadcasting facilities are housed on the lower floors to ensure fast communication.

The eco shafts installed on either sides of the workspace, which feature an efficient core and module design, enable natural lighting and ventilation to come into the space. The elevation represents the leading news media that delivers information to the world by introducing the design of the lower floors and of the ground floor. This evokes the image of a precious stone that accumulates information to create a crystal. The low-emissivity glass and Building Integrated Photovoltaics system on the elevation result in a sustainable structure that integrates form as well as the function.
