POSCO R&D Center, Songdo POSCO Global R&D Center is located in a triangular area within the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). This area intends to develop into an economic center along with the Yeongjong and Cheongla districts. The overall layout of POSCO Global R&D Center is composed of several volumes, derived from the urban grid and the 15 degree tilt of the natural topography.

Between each volume are outdoor spaces that guide or block the circulation to create a more pleasant working environment. The green and water spaces are in contrast with the linear volumes and grids. Within the first research building, the atrium penetrates the interior floors bringing in daylight. The light extends into the public zone on the first floor of the second research building, creating a more open, pleasant environment. The convention hall has a reflective pond outside as well as water space inside. The laboratory building is visually divided by a ventilation space creating a gap in the exterior.
