KLID Tower Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute(KLID) is a quasi-public institution under the Ministry of Public Safety and Security. Client aimed to build a new building at Sangam to aggregate the dispersed employees working at different places.

Due to the characteristics of the Sangam area, the facade was determined as the glass curtain walls from the beginning, according to urban reg- ulations. In order to make the most out of restriction, architects came up with the concept of ‘QR code’. For this reason, we made a 1400 x 1400 square module and placed a horizontal step of 150 mm between the modules to give a three-dimen- sional effect. In the process of complying with urban guidelines, the lower floors (1st to 3rd floors) are widely open to the public (neighborhood living facilities, galleries, libraries, etc.) and the 4th floor and above consists of security facilities. In particu- lar, the uppermost two floors are computer rooms in which all the DBs in this spec- ification are integrated and set to the highest security level.
