KUMHO ASIANA HQ 'Soaring to the future' is a concept that has been kept from the beginning of design for the new company headquarters for Kumho Asiana, a successful Korean business conglomerate that operates many manufacturing and airline industry. The challenge was to expresses the image of Kumho Asiana that has been rapidly developing itself as a global company.

The new headquarters building at the main street of Sinmunno shaped like a curve that is considered Korean traditional natural line. This curve is also a metaphor - traces of airplane that is soaring to the future in an area full of box shaped buildings. Two different curves on the front and rear means different meanings. A 'convex' that symbolize growth of company and a 'concave' that embraces the history of Kumho group and a gesture of embracing surrounding urban context. At the side facing Jeongdong area where there are no skyscrapers, there is an art wall in the city under the theme of the 'land and light'.
